Water Crisis Intensifies in The U.S.

The photo would represent a water crisis such as the one in Flint, Michigan or even the troubles Bellingham has with our own water. It is easy to forget how fragile and finite water really is, and how preserving and protecting it is so important.

Photo Illustration Assessment

Jessica Vangel

This assignment was absolutely the most fun for me. I felt like I had the creative freedom to do what I wanted with this which was really nice. I had like 5 ideas drafted for this assignment and I honestly was going to do all of them because of how excited I was about it. Ultimately in the end I’m not crazy happy with my results though because I took a lot of photos but couldn’t figure out how to do what I wanted to do with them in time to turn them in. Additionally, I feel that my images look really primitive just because my Photoshop skills are not very advanced quite yet so I kind of laugh every time I look at the drawing in my water image and the donuts in my product shot. However I feel that if this were an actual story being written about, with a little cleaning up and more editing they could be to the point where I would be really happy with them. I’m also really proud of the photos themselves that I took. I really like the composition of the hand and the bokeh (not sure if i remember how to spell that) of the donut portrait. I did definitely learn new things in Photoshop for this assignment but I wish I could’ve made them cleaner.
